Our Principals

Hi everyone! My name is Lorene Harvey and I am the Principal of Elkhorn School.

I have worked for North Monterey County School District for over 20 years and the majority of that time has been at Elkhorn School. This is my second year as Principal of Elkhorn School. Previously, I was the Assistant Principal at Elkhorn School for 12 years, so I know our families and students well. I look forward to continuing my work with our students and our families to be the best that they can be in order for them to have an amazing experience in elementary school.

I truly believe that ALL students have the right to learn and deserve every opportunity that is available to them. I look forward to working with you throughout these upcoming years.

It is my honor to be the Assistant Principal at Elkhorn Elementary School. My highest priority is to serve all students, staff, and parents by working collaboratively as a team. I come with 9 years of experience in secondary public education as a teacher, coach, and administrator. It has been my privilege to be a part of the North Monterey County School District for the last three years, and I look forward to continuing to serve our community as your Assistant Principal at Elkhorn Elementary School.

At Elkhorn Elementary School our vision is that our school is a safe, supportive, and innovative school community for all, where the possibilities are unlimited. Elkhorn School is a team of dedicated students, parents, staff, and community members who share a collective responsibility to create a learning environment in which all students grow and succeed. As your Assistant Principal, I will do all that I can to see this vision come to fruition. I believe that when we do a good job preparing our youth for the future, we help build healthier communities and a stronger nation.
